Voices of the Soar
More than 900 people have spoken and their message is clear, the River Soar matters, and people are worried about its future.
Parents describe being reluctant to let their children paddle in the water. Swimmers talk about no longer feeling safe. Residents speak of declining wildlife, pollution and a river they fear is being neglected. Yet through every comment runs the same thread, love for the Soar and a determination to see it restored.
The voices featured here are just a small selection from over 900 comments received through our campaign. Together they paint a picture of a river at the heart of our communities and a growing demand for action to protect it.
This is the voice of a river community that refuses to stay silent.
