Join Us in London for the Water Referendum Debate

On 14th September, Leicester and Leicestershire residents have the chance to be present inside Parliament for the Water Referendum debate.

This is not a local meeting or a drop‑in session, it is a national debate in London where MPs will be discussing the future of our rivers, our water system, and the issues our communities have been raising for months.

Across the Soar, Saffron Brook, the Sence, Bradgate Park, and Knighton Park, we’ve seen repeated pollution incidents.

Our citizen‑science testing has shown clear indicators of sewage in local watercourses. We’ve submitted evidence, raised concerns, and asked for regulatory clarity. Now we have the opportunity to show, in person, that Leicester and Leicestershire expect accountability.

We will be meeting at Leicester train station and travelling together to London. You don’t need to stay for the whole debate, even being in the public gallery for part of it shows that our rivers matter and that our communities are watching.
